Five year-old Naiomi and three year-old Hannah ‘baked’ a sand ‘cake’ for two year-old Vivian. They decorated it with twig ‘candles’, and as they handed it to her they sang the “Happy Birthday” song. Smiling all the while, Vivian waited until the song ended. Then she blew out her ‘candles’.
Blindly setting the pretend treat onto the table, she cried, “I got cake in my eyes!”
